Germany is well known for its sustainable economy. By contrasting the Canadian system to the German system, children will get a perspective on sustainability and a range of expression in terms of nationalism. Have the students write down technology they seen in the documentary that they don’t see in Canada. Students can then break into groups and answer the following questions:

 

QUESTIONS

 

  1. How does German nationality differ from Canadian nationality?

  2. What sustainable sources have you seen or heard of in Canada?

  3. Sustainability is engrained into German nationality, do you think this is the case for Canada?

  4. How do you believe Canada can change their national identity to include sustainable technology?

OUTCOMES

Students will:
